MODISSIMO CHANGES HOME
February 16th and 17th, 2022 | Exponor

The next edition of Modtissimo, which will take place on February 16th and 17th, 2022, will move to Exponor. Celebrating its 60th edition in 2022, the Portuguese textile fair announces the return to a home where "it was very happy".

The organization of the only trade show in the Iberian Peninsula devoted to the entire textile row announces that the February 2022 edition will be held at Exponor. This decision to move from Porto Airport to Exponor was mainly due to the lack of space.

“This time, the Alfândega do Porto’s building doesn’t have dates available, but the truth is that our first choice for the February editions over the last six years, the Porto’s Airport, also became impractical, not because of the dates, but because of lack of space”, says Manuel Serrão, director of the fair.

The growth in the number of exhibitors, and in the area occupied since February 2020 makes it impossible to hold the next edition at the Airport without leaving many of the exhibitors out.

The organization highlights some positive aspects of this change:

1. The possibility of bringing together all exhibitors and informational forums in the same area. Exponor Pavilion 5, with 6 thousand m2 and recently renovated, will be the stage.

2. Better accessibility and much easier parking options, equally free, for exhibitors and buyers.

3. Less relevant, but also important: Exponor has a more diversified offer of bar and restaurant services, which will be exclusively focused on serving Modtissimo exhibitors and buyers.

4. In terms of location, and thinking of foreign buyers who visit the show, a number that keeps on growing, the event will remain close to the airport. In addition, shuttle routes will be created for those who want to visit Porto’s historic centre.

MODTISSIMO is the largest Portuguese textile salon and the oldest in the entire Iberian Peninsula. Held twice a year – in February and in September/October –, it brings together the entire Portuguese textile industry, from yarn producers to clothing manufacturers, serving as a showcase for one of the largest textile clusters in Europe. Thousands of visitors normally pass through its halls, especially international buyers, who, in addition to all the commercial offer, also have the opportunity to visit the beautiful city of Porto.
